Hey all, I did a search on the boards and found nothing that could help me. I've been trying to get my 6-in-1 card reader to work but nothing helps. I plugged it in the usb port, got the prompt for the driver, wrote in USBMSC.DLL and the light on my card reader goes on however when I put a CF card in the reader I don't see the storage card folder in My Handheld PC. I've made sure that no other CF card was in the integrated CF slot (I thought there may be conflict) and I also make sure that I have only one card type in the card reader so at this point I'm lost on what to do. I also made the registry changes and still nothing. Any help would be much appreciated. If anyone got a usb multicard reader to work on their Intermec 6651 or any other Handheld 2000 PC please help me.

Thanks
Linda

Where are all the Intermec gurus when you need them?

Linda, you may want to try pocketpcmag.com as well. IIRC there are a few Intermec users there, and they use all kinds of USB things, including harddrives

Oh! sorry!
Just bought a Jornada 728 and enjoying...
--------------------Seperate Line-----------------------------
1.Copy those *four dlls from your computer
2.Then Paste them into the 6651's windows directory
3.Soft Reset

*=fsdmgr.dll, udfs.dll, usbdisk6.dll, usbmsc.dll

Next time you connect your card reader via USB port
Just type "usbmsc" only in the PopUp window( .dll is not necessary)
Then you could find Mobile disks in My Handheld PC

Check your mail, Lindarose84!

Is your card reader brand PQI?

I have a PQI 6in1 Card Reader with 16MB space built in
But whenever a SmartMedia card is inserted
6651 cannot access the onboard 16MB
It means the onboard memory share the same slot as the SmartMedia card
Only this situation.....

But 6651's CF Slot got nothing to do with your card reader's CF via USB
Weird!
Can you find any other media (SD,MMC,MemoryStick...or the like) in your 6651?

WOW! ok this sounds cool (to me, who is not really familiar with the cool things you can actually do with Wince) ok, you are running a 6 in 1 usb card read from your jornada! ok, how does this work... is it plugged into the lil square usb connector in the docking cradle or is it regular usb plugged into a pcmcia Usb adaptor!!? just curious guys! i love hearing anything that can make Jornada more practical than they already are !(my Floppy drive for J720 still hasn't arrived I think it'll be next week!! ) Quick question those of superior intellect to my own, when I get it... it's an american unit. I have read that laptops will run the drive through the pcmcia, but that the jornada doesn't have enough power to do that, hence you must use the ac adaptor. now I don't wanna spend another 15020 quid on a 240-110 V stepdown transformer, so would it work if I plugged the jornada into mains, would the drive run then!? TIA

Hey! Bane! I'm sorry that I mentioned Jornada 728
But what I wrote below the seperate line is just for the Intermec 6651 only!!!
Floppies? I've got hundreds of moldy disks.....

Oh! Forgot to say
Intermec 6651 recognizes only ONE media at a time when connected to the 6in1 USB card reader!
So there's only one usb disk shown in My Handheld PC!
