Since the crash, when I try to use the search for a forum, I just get this:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

/forums/search/query.asp, line 212

Is it just me? If I search within the last week, it works fine, but if I go back a month or more, I get the above error. I am using Vista Home Premium. Is that the problem? Does search work for others here? Does forum database need to be re-indexed maybe?

Forgive my exasperation, I've said this about 250 times now

When the site crashed it took hardware with it, we're running on an under-specified configuration that is less than ideal and unable to cope with the load. The SQL databases are distributed too far over a less than ideal network connection; the result is that the servers are uanble to sustain the traffic volume coupled with comprehensive database activity.

All I can offer you is to
a. Search over smaller time periods
b. Search titles only
c. search as specifically as you can - i.e. by author, phrase instead of 'any' keywords

Sorry to add to the exasperation, but when I searched to see if there was already a post on this, search did not work. Kind of a Catch 22.

We do appreciate even a limited functioning hpcfactor!!
