Hello All,

I am hearing more and more about Linux running on the Jornada. I have a 728 with Windows now, but I was told if I switched to Linux, it would have updated software. I use my Jornada for web surfing (which is limited because not everything will appear on the page), e-mailing and creating Word docs. And of course for playing solitaire and squares. I use the dial up and an ethernet card. Is this still possible with Linux? I have a 1 gig compact flash card. Is this big enough for Linux? And finally, where do I buy Linux for the Jornada 728 and does it come with a manual to talk me through it step by step?

Okay, you all can laugh at my questions now. lol I laugh at myself when it comes to computers, but I would really like to learn more.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

Kirby

I went to a site that describes step-by-step how to do it and it sounds scary.

EEK! Okay, over my head. Not ready. Strike the above question from me, but in case anyone else is curious, I will leave this thread here for anyone to add to it.

Thank you!

Crawling back into her hole,

Kirby

JLime has an installer for the Jornada 680 range, which is being ported to the 720. Should make installation much easier.

Normally www.720degrees.org, but the domain is having problems. The forums are forums.720degrees.net.
