Since i haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else, if you followed
this guide to get a working 720Degrees distro working on your old J820
(I suggest old Etch
), and you ended up with a blue color Xfbdev, it doesn't require a recompilation as suggested. Just launch it from a ssh connection, or go to /etc/initrd, add startx to /sbin/ and do:
7:3:repspawn:/sbin/startx
Calling init 3 from the terminal will boot a perfectly clean X server. Fluxbox works like a charm
(I had to add -mouse /dev/psaux to Xfbdev to get mouse working
). Dillo runs faster than PIE, as well.
You'll need a swap partition on the CF, too. I could hardly run apt-get without one.
