Developed in 1988 to usher in a new era of peer to peer network communication, IRC is one of the oldest forms of real-time cyber communication, and also one of the most controversial.

While there have been IRC clients for the Handheld PC for a number of years, they have often lacked the simplicity of the protocol and features of desktop standard IRC clients. Alpaxo Software's Quackenchat aims to address the balance using a common run-time format to provide support for virtually any Handheld PC and Windows CE Core device - all in 80 KB.

Charles Hague signs on in his latest review here on HPC:Factor, and lets us know why Quackenchat has succeeded in muscling in on the competition.

Another well-written review by chazco.

Quackenchat works well for me. With its broad compatibility across CPU types and OS versions, I agree that it's a must to have. Even more so since it's freeware.

Doesn't work on Sig 3

Well it installs ok and creates a directory with 3 files and a shortcut in Start Menu > Program files. Just comes up with an error in Japanease when you try to run it though...

Will try it on my J720 later
