| The two systems do not like to interoperate.
http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/c/0002.asp coovers forcing XP to connect, you could follow it substituting the com for IR, otherwise the substitution under 98 is to use Direct Cable Connection |

| The situation is this for those interested and with ideas.....
My Compaq C140(WinCE1) connects to the pc via irda happily the pc see it etc, So No problems there. When I try to establish a connect using H/PC explorer 1.1 again the my compaq connects and states it is "connected". BUT HPC explorer states "Establishing connection to H/PC". That is the situation I'm at and cannot seem to get past at the moment. Have done everything people here have suggested and what HPC:factors of help states but still no solution. So does anyone have any further Ideas????

| Just occoured to me to make sure that you had DUN 1.4 installed:
http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/patching/win98/
You need to have at least the 1.2 DUN stack installed under 98 for it to work properly against a dual connection. |

| Actually I thought we already had one from the ce320 days - it must have gone missing in the transition to HPC:Factor.
Back in the CE1 days I got the device but no sync lead, and was IrDAing to my laptop for ages before I got a sync cable. Strange stuff!
Glad you got everything sorted! |
