ok so i repeat, we'll need to agree in who's making what
I can do either the j6xx or the j7xx info. that info will include:
>Basic contents
-Hardware description, specs (slots) & links to the HCL for HW compat (maybe pics over here) <-maybe info about restoring TD's refurbd 680e models shall go here
-Accesories
-Powering up for the first time
-Power states (suspend, soft reset, hard reset)
-Basic usage info for device specific programs (the ones bundled in ROM)

>Advanced contents
-Hardware dissassembly
-User-servicing manuals (replacing HPC's screen, mobo, memory)

Besides that, we'll need a general section (not device specific), that should include:
-Link to HPC:Factor glossary (important as many people dunno exactly what are we talking about when referring to a "Pro" device for example)

-The basic CE interface
*Start
*Taskbar
*Desktop
*Windows
*Control panel
*File explorer

-HPC Sync with Desktop PC
*Link to the Activesync CESD articles for info & troubleshooting (maybe link to microsoft's AS troubleshooter wizard)
*How to use the basic PIM programs (Pocket Outlook)
*How to transfer files

-Maybe a SW (howtos) section
*hacking ppc apps?

Maybe that should do for the very beginning

sorry for already posting in the other topic i don't repeat it here but it's still relevant.

hmm, i think there's already some info about the basics, we can use that mostly in the beginning.

I agree, for the topics already covered in the CESD or in the HCL, we should just make links to the articles, the rest is up to us. i've already stated what topics i think are already done:

-ActiveSync
-HW compatibility
-Some SW mods (storage card names, basic regediting)

All the other info should be written by us, for there's no CESD article i think

Awesome, great idea! I'd be willing to write up some information on the MobilePro 900C (or CE .NET in general) and GPRS tethering/aircards.

I can try to get a manual on the interface out.

But since WinCE is so close to Win96, why not link to a basic interface manual for that?

Heheh, but as far as a basic interface manual, I should be able to do one pretty quickly. Just explain what, for example, that little icon in the bottom left corner does (minimize all windows).

Then if I really want to go deep, I can have a section titled: What is a window?

feel free to write about your device, preferently if you can make the general hardware explanation (slots, specs and HW issues). and SW specific issues (900c PIM somebody?)

Also the GPRS stuff would be great, we may even convinve C:Amie to make it a CESD article. PM for my email, so you can send your contributions and start getting things in shape
