| I just bought a couple, and the first thing I did as pry one open (of course). There is a notch in the circuit board where an antenna mount might be soldered. (I'm not sure; I'm not an EE.)
Also, the part of the circuit board that under the black plastic is largely unpopulated. It shouldn't be too hard to give this card an even lower profile. |

| Interesting observation. Let's know your possible mod to make the profile even lower. I'm an EE, but not that good at soldering. |

| With Nate's hint, I opened the case of a card. I'm examing the antennas (BTW, I specialize in antennas and microwaves ). I'm going to trim the end gradually so that I can check the performance. If I'm lucky, I may end up with a working WiFi card with little protrusion from MP900C. Of course, the LED indicators would be gone. Edited by CAuser 2008-07-10 3:09 PM

| I did it! Now, the protrusion from MP900C is 5mm as opposed to 13.5mm. Warning: once the case is opened, it's hard (if not impossible ) to close it as the original. Of course, I did solder a section of insulated wire as the antenna. Here are 2 photos for you to judge. As long as I don't say 'Closed', the thread is still active.
Now, the price is reduced to $15 for USA or $20 elsewhere. Edited by CAuser 2009-06-20 12:46 PM

| Hello CAuser, do you have a guid on how exactly to get this going on a J720? I used the cab you provided, and the cabs on this site, and tried lots, searched the forums, but i just cant get it. The cab installs, but the agere cleint says driver not loaded, and when i try to do anything the app crashes, it just closes right up.
Since you seem to have had success, i figure i might as well ask how you did it.
thanks. |

| I'll check the driver on my home PC. Did you do a hard reset before installing the driver? If there is no others in conflict with the driver, it should load automatically. |
