WinWAP for the Handheld PCHandheld PC News Posted 20 years ago | News | Chris Tilley 0 comments
We contacted Slob-Trot Software, creators of the Windows CE WAP browser WinWAP over the weekend to see whether they would consider releasing a Handheld PC port of their browser.
The good news is that WinWAP for Windows CE does support the Handheld PC platform. According to Mikael Krogius, spokes person for Slob-Trot. "We do not have shareware versions available for [builds] other then Pocket PC versions of WinCE. However we can provide builds for devices for all CE versions from 2.11 upwards... there is one exception as we have a public shareware version available for the Casio BE-300 that runs Wince 4.0." Mikael went on to explain that the reason they have not as yet released Handheld PC Shareware builds is because they build each software version for a specific device, such as the Jornada 720 or the MobilePro 900 rather than on a Platform basis. Allowing them to optimise for screen size and specific device characteristics. Anyone interested in a fully featured WAP browser for their H/PC can currently purchase it by contacting Slob-Trot directly. If you'd like to see a Shareware trial version of the application released the Slob-Trot team would be happy to hear from you with your device model.
