Cisco update Aironet 350 driversHandheld PC News Posted 18 years ago | News | Chris Tilley 0 comments
Users of the very popular Cisco Systems Aironet 350 802.11b Wireless LAN adapter may want to pay a visit to the Cisco support site, as Cisco have updated their Windows CE 3 and 4.x driver release.
The new release, version 2.60 adds a number of new features and general product enhancements including support for additional Windows CE 4.x CPU types, WPA support (Windows CE 4.2 devices only) an expanded Device Status utility - allowing you to monitor the real time status of the WiFi connection and a Certificate manager (but again for Windows CE 4.2 only). The drivers will replace those in ROM on the Jornada 700 series, and are available for free download from the Cisco support site. In the usual Cisco fashion, you have to provide what can nearly be described as testimony to download them - meaning we cannot redistribute them through the HCL. HPC:Factor advises that all users check the compatible firmware on their Aironet 350, upgrading to the latest firmware and ensuring to update any other hardware which the adapter is used in to the latest build also.
