Using the OpenSearch link, and a compatible OpenSearch 1.1 program such as Internet Explorer 7.0, you can connect into the Forum Search directly from wherever you are without initially visiting the site. Under Internet Explorer 7.0, the OpenSearch link for the forums will display as an option on the search toolbar, enabling you to perform full text searches against the entire forum and forum archives.
