Microsoft for the first time has release a public beta of the next version of ActiveSync.

ActiveSync 4.2 is now available for download at the ActiveSync 4.2 Beta page.

In early testing, this new build works fine with H/PC 2000 based units. If you like to live dangerously (and what H/PC owner doesn't?) give it a try. Remember though, it is beta!
