![]() If you have been keeping an eye on the forum over the holiday period, you will know that there has been much discussion and uncertainty surrounding the future of RedGear's creator Alpaxo Software.
Fortunately, Alpaxo have announced that they are now able to continue selling their programs for the foreseeable future - including the RedGear application compatibility layer - as they have been able to secure an agreement with an OEM. To celebrate the news, Alpaxo have announced a 25% reduction in retail pricing for all editions of RedGear (CE 3.0, 4.1 and 4.2). RedGear is an intermediate software program that is designed to provide a bridge between the programming on Windows CE and selected Windows Mobile Pocket PC programs, allowing the programs to run under the Handheld PC; including Opera Mobile. Other Alpaxo applications include Quackenchat and the 3Com 3CRWE62092B wireless monitor. Under the price reduction, RedGear is currently retailing for between $9.00 and $15.00 USD depending upon the version and can be purchased directly from the Alpaxo Software website.
