Fundraising Update

HPC:factor v2.0 Logo
It has been a little over two weeks since I first mentioned to the community that we would need some help in generating the funding necessary to buy a new server for HPC:Factor.

In that time I have been astonished and humbled by the response from the community, both for the kindness and generosity of the people who consider the site to be their virtual home away from home.

Since 6th February and as of this morning you have helped to raise a staggering £762.43 which puts us into a good position to buy the new hardware necessary to solve the problems with the database server and its sporadic dropouts which have plagued us since we relocated to the UK.

With the new hardware we will be able to unlock the registration system and allow new members to join the community, which while regrettable has helped with the database server load.
I aim to place the order this evening for the necessary equipment; however any donations received after today will go towards increasing the server memory in 4GB increments or remain at the disposal of the site to meet future running costs.

Finally, as a reminder, for anyone who donated the equivalent of £10.00 GBP or higher, your forum accounts will now display "+Subscriber" status to indicate your contribution. As a +Subscriber member you can now store up to 200 messages in your PM inbox and add significantly larger attachments to your forum posts (up to 350KB instead of 60KB).

+Subscriber status will last for 1 year from the date of your donation.

If you donated £10.00 or more to the site, but do not see +Subscriber status on your post side-bar, please drop me a PM as I haven't always been able to match donators to their forum user accounts.

Thank-you again to everyone who has contributed to the site so far and please keep your donations coming as there is always more work to be done and there are always more costs associated with running a non-advertising supported site like HPC:Factor.
