With the MSN Messenger lockout on the 15th is but days away. Keman Yu from Microsoft Research Asia, one of the development team for the popular Microsoft Portrait Instant Messaging and conferencing applications for HPC2000 has sent us some information.

"Portrait v2.1 will be affected by MSN Messenger service changes on the 15th". Kenman goes on to say that the Portrait team will "try to upgrade Portrait to meet the changes" in the future.

HPC:Factor will keep you appraised on this continuing saga. At this stage a complete failure of all MSN clients for the H/PC platform seems imminent.
