News: BetaPlayer becomes TCPMP

Posted 14 years ago | News | 0 comments | Author: C:Amie

BetaPlayer, combined with readily available, high quality and easy to use conversion applications such as PocketDVD arrived at a time when interest in using a PDA for Portable Video is really starting to make impressions into the mass-market, consumer psyche.
BetaPlayer, built upon its Open Source origins and still in its 0.x build phase (as well as others) has even allowed Handheld PC users the ability to join this phenomenon, taking portable video away from the exclusive realm of the Pocket PC and making it legacy.

After a 6 month lull, void of build refreshes, CoreCodec, creators of BetaPlayer have released a new stable build. Version 0.66 is not only enhanced, but it comes a new name.
Following the unravelled success of previous releases, BetaPlayer joins the front-line CoreCodec media player family under the banner TCPMP, or, The Core Pocket Media Player (for Windows CE).
TCPMP is compiled for StrongARM, MIPS and SH3 processors, and is a donorware application released under GPL.
