Italian manufacturer Eurotech has announced the availability of a new, wearable "Wrist-Worn PC".
The new device, that wouldn't look at all out of place in a Star Trek episode boasts a touch sensitive pen input bases TFT screen, GPS, Fast IrDA, Bluetooth 1.1, 802.11b/g WiFi, USB an SD slot, microphone, speakers and headphones, 64MB RAM and a "guaranteed" operational life of 8 hours wrapped up in either a Windows CE or Embedded Linux flavour.
To offer this battery performance, Eurotech have created and patented a position detection system, which compliments the device's power management by suspending the device when the arm is hanging down beside the body, immediately cutting down on unnecessary idle time.

The device is primarily aimed towards the emergency and medial services, but has clear uses both from the perspective of end users and industry as a whole.
No pricing details are currently available. Preliminary information can be found on the Eurotech website.
