ActiveSync 4.5 ReleasedHandheld PC News Posted 17 years ago | News | Chris Tilley 0 comments
Microsoft have updated the ActiveSync 4 synchronisation client release, with a new and improved build under the guise of ActiveSync 4.5.
The main functional changes in the new release are in setup, partnerships, and connectivity with the PC and Microsoft Exchange. In addition, ActiveSync 4.5 includes a new troubleshooter utility that scans your computer and device to identify problems and offers information and corrective actions to solve them. The principle device enhancements are of course orientated towards Windows Mobile 5.0 and the new 6.0 editions. However the existing support line-up from ActiveSync 4.2 remains - which includes all Windows CE 3.0 and above devices. The new release is designed for use under Windows 2000, XP and 2003. Users of the new Windows Vista must use the new Windows Mobile Device Sync Centre, which unfortunately lacks any native synchronisation support for the H/PC.
