nPOPuk 2.13 - Now with integrated SSL SupportHandheld PC News Posted 15 years ago | News | Chris Tilley 4 comments
nPOPuk have announced the immediate availability of an updated version of their recently released 2.12 client. This new release as 2.13 enhances the program with one of the most requested Windows CE e-mail client features - built-in SSL.
SSL, or Security Socket Layer, is a web encryption protocol which uses public key certification to encrypt and subsequently decrypt communications between a client (nPOPuk) and server (your mail server). If your ISP supports SSL, up until now you either had to use a PC or install additional software onto your CE device to gain access to your e-mail. With the 2.13 release, the OpenSSL security layer has been integrated directly into the application, allowing SSL support right out of the box.
