Users of the NEC MobilePro 900 - the first Clamshell device with a Flash ROM - will start to see information on the Windows CE 4 .net version of the device. HPC:Factor can confirm that the current schedule for the release of a CE 4 version of the 900 is to have the units ready for release in March.
It is currently not know whether the release will take the form of CE 4.1, 4.2 or Windows Mobile 2003. Or whether current HPC2000 users will be given the option to upgrade. At this stage, production of the HPC2000 version appears to be coming to an end at around the same time.
It is no secret that we here at HPC:Factor regard the idea of a CE 4 H/PC with suspicion. We eagerly await the release of the 4.x unit and will bring you more as soon as we get it.
