Nokia Acquires IntelliSyncHandheld PC News Posted 17 years ago | News | Chris Tilley 0 comments
![]() Finnish mobile phone's giant Nokia Corporation has announced the immediate acquisition of US data services company IntelliSync. Citing the main aim of the buy out to be IntelliSync's enterprise connectivity and communication solutions, Nokia states that the acquisition combines the strengths of both companies with the result being the ability to provide the industry's most complete offering for the development, deployment and management of mobility in the enterprise. Device-agnostic software platforms will be a core characteristic of Nokia's solutions for enterprises that need to mobilize their workforces.
The merger strengthens Nokia's position in the communications market place, providing them with a strangle hold on one of the only routes Windows Mobile owners have into non-Microsoft based enterprise communication solutions, at a time when their core business model is being threatened by the rise in popularity of Windows Mobile and PalmOS based phone hybrids and Smartphone's.
