Some thought that it would never happen, but SoftMaker are talking about the Handheld PC!

Editions of both TextMaker 2006 and PlanMaker 2006 for Windows CE (as well as the Sharp Zaurus) are firmly - and officially - on the release schedule, with beta's due in the coming days and weeks.

Following the lead of the PlanMaker 2004 release, support for SH3, SH4 CPUs will remain absent and, in addition, the abandonment of support for the MIPS architecture processor has also been announced. The support changes are primarily due to compiler problems which plagued the original TextMaker 2002 release, but are inevitably also due to far lower market share. For any XScale or StrongARM user however, the promise of an integrated, desktop standard Office suite will be mark a red letter day in the diaries of H/PC users everywhere.
