As a collectors items, it is not very often that we have the opportunity to welcome a new software developer into the Handheld PC family. Yet, out of the blue, just after New Year, 2023 delivered a surprise in the form of a new developer entering the fray.

German based Kilotec Elektronik is a European retro device parts and repair specialist. They may be familiar to some users in the DOS Palmtop space as part of their focus has been on supporting the 95LX user community along with the ATARI portfolio and SEGA Game Gear.

Starting with the release of FWert (later renamed FValue) on the 4th of January, over the past 19 days Kilotec has released no fewer than 6 new applications!
Written in Visual Basic CE and available for devices running Windows CE 2.11 (Handheld PC Pro) and above. The apps are a mix of financial tools, games and system utilities with 4 of the 6 being freeware and the remaining 2 being trials in the form of shareware.

FValue
FValue is a stock market investment tool that helps you perform basic stock and share valuation fairness calculations. The aim of the tool is to help you make informed purchasing decisions.

Stock Manager
Stock Manager is a stocks and shares portfolio management tool for your Handheld PC. It lets you record and manage purchases and sales as well as track basic statistics about your stocks and shares portfolio.

Financial Calc
Financial Calc is a tool help you calculate percentages, loan amortisations, savings and interest, HPR calculations, NPV and sales prices.

Slider Puzzle
Slider is a simple sliding tiles game, but with a Handheld PC twist!

SuperClipboard
Have you ever found single item copy and paste to be a bit limiting? SuperClipboard allows you to create multiple lists of data using the copy and paste functions of Windows CE and then retrieve them to paste into another file or document.

Hammurabi
Named after the Bronze Age King Hammurabi of the Old Babylonian Empire. This text based strategy game places you in charge of the lives and wellbeing of your people. You must manage land, produce, production and the wider economy to complete your 10 year reign as King of the Babylonians.

While the Kilotec homepage is only available in German, all of their Windows CE software applications have been translated into English and can be found here in the HPC:Factor Software Compatibility List available for devices running H/PC Pro and higher.

There is further good news for the community as Kilotek’s founder Dominik Kristen has promised that further application releases will be coming over the weeks and months ahead.
