SoftMaker on PlanMaker

Handheld PC News

Posted 21 years ago | News | Chris Tilley 0 comments

I've had an e-mail back from SoftMaker, creators of TextMaker and the forthcoming PlanMaker spreadsheet application. In the e-mail SoftMaker explain that the crux of the decision as to whether to create a PlanMaker version for the Handheld PC is down to one thing. Demand: "...we will develop one if the demand is large enough.".

If community members wish to have the functionality offered by applications such as PlanMaker then it comes down to two things.

  1. Making your voice heard with the developer. Relying on us, the community leads to get you the port just isn't going be sufficient this time

  2. Putting your money where your mouth is. Its one thing to say you want it, quite another to buy it. If people don't buy it then there will be no future H/PC development, no matter how many e-mail's they get
At the end of the day it's that simple. This is a problem that plagues the community. Apathy and freeware hoarding. IF the community doesn't rise to this challenge, then complaints that there is no software available will be nothing but the community's own fault.
