Description

WinCE iSCSI Initiator enables connection to a computer that is running any iSCSI SAN like iStorage Server from any Windows CE based devices, such as: WinCE Embedded device and Windows Mobile, in order to connect to iSCSI Target storage over Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G network. WinCE iSCSI Initiator can be used over existing wired and wireless (Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G etc.) networks to create storage area networks (SANs). That will help iSCSI Initiator device to expand their virtual storage without any additional hardware requirements which is a huge benefit for home and business solutions.

It can be installed on any Windows Embedded device or Windows Mobile phone. Upon installation, it can be connected to already existing iSCSI Targets. To increase security, using CHAP user authorization is preferred. With iStorage Server iSCSI SAN user can easily connect to image file or partition or even to a whole hard disk from server machine and use it just like locally attached hard disk. Copy, move or delete data without any limitations just like on a physical hard disk or external memory. It's available for download completely free of charge.

After connected to iSCSI Target using Windows embedded device or Windows Mobile Phone, additional storage will appear in those devices as Memory Card or hard disk. Using it in Windows Mobile Phone, it's worth to note that maximum memory card capacity limitations used by phone don't apply here, since none memory card was physically inserted into phone, it will only appear for phone that it is physical memory card, especially, user can specify the storage in camera that can automatically save photos to iSCSI disk after photos are taken.

Using it in Windows Embedded devices, Windows CE is widely used in the embedded industry, with WinCE iSCSI initiator, the embedded device can be expanded from a existing iSCSI SAN into any embedded environment such as: Media Center, Thin Client, Terminal, Industrial Control etc. Therefore you can easily install any applications you like on it without being worry about limited storage capabilities.

It is perfect to use for embedded industry and office work as well as in home since all of those places already have Wi-Fi networks which will allow for fast and secure connections to additional storage. KernSafe WinCE iSCSI Initiator is software based, and don't require any special hardware to work and most importantly - it will function on any Windows CE (from 4.X to 7.x).
