Description

HPC dbExplorer is a tool that allows a user to browse and manage databases on Microsoft Windows-powered mobile device. The program is very similar to Windows File Explorer for Handheld PC, only it works with databases stored on the device rather than files. With HPC dbExplorer users can: Copy, Rename, Delete, and Transfer (via infrared port) of databases. Databases can be displayed as small or large icons, or as a detailed list and sorted by Name, Date or Size in ascending or descending order. The program allows one to Backup (Restore) multiple databases and registry settings into a file which can be stored on the flash memory card or copied onto the desktop PC. Any database can be exported in comma or tab separated text file.

The package includes a setup program which runs on your desktop computer and makes installation of the program very easy.

Note: HPC dbExplorer 1.5 or later infrared transfer protocol is not compatible with previous versions of HPC dbExplorer. You must use the same version of HPC dbExplorer on both devices to transfer databases via infrared port. To check the version number use the Help/About menu item on the Handheld PC, the File/About menu item on the Palm-Size PC, or the Tools/About on the Pocket PC.

Approximately 110-125K of free storage space (depending on the mobile device model).
100KB of free program memory required to run application (Additional 300KB of memory is required to create compressed backup files).
Installation Instructions

To install the demo you need to do the following:
Download and copy HPC dbExplorer installation program (hpcdbex.exe) into a temporary directory onto your desktop computer.

Connect your mobile device to the desktop computer.

Run hpcdbex.exe installation program on the desktop computer.

Follow the on-screen installation instructions to install HPC dbExplorer.

By default HPC dbExplorer will be installed in the \Program Files\Accessories directory on the mobile device. Shortcuts will be created in the \Windows\Programs\Accessories directory and on the desktop. To run HPC dbExplorer just double-click on the HPC dbExplorer icon on your desktop. If you remove HPC dbExplorer shortcut from the desktop, you can run the application using Windows CE Explorer. HPC dbExplorer menu item will be added to Start -> Programs.
