What is FlyBall?
This application helps a casual baseball fan or coaches to help them in keeping track of team scores and individual player stats for particular games to assess the performance of teams and players and other details.
Do I need to install any particular software to use this application?
No additional software is required to run this application. But if you are downloading a .zip file then you should have WinZip installed in your desktop.
What are the devices on which this application runs?
The present version of FlyBall has been developed exclusively for the Windows CE 2.0 or higher and therefore can be run only on Hand-held/Palmtops supporting this environment.
How should I start the application?
After successfully downloading the application, install it on your palm / handheld device. The icon of FlyBall will appear in your StartUp menu. Click on the icon of FlyBall to start the application.
What should be the first thing to do in this application?
Select "Add New Team" from File menu in the menubar. A small input box will appear with the title "Team Name - FlyBall" and having a box to fill in the name of the team you wish to create. Fill in the Team Name in this box click "Ok" button in the screen to give the new team a name. This will open a new window with it's title "Add New Team - FlyBall". Here you must add the names of individual players in the Player Name box and select their batting order and fielding position. Do not forget to add a pitcher to the team.
What other information can I store with this application?
Besides maintaining your teams database, this application will help you to keep all the information pertaining to any game recorded by you. You can at any time watch the stats of the game you have recorded. Apart from this, FlyBall gives you an innovative virtual scoring screen where you record the game stats while virtually playing it on your handheld device.
How is this application different from other Scorekeeping applications?
At this moment very few applications are available that really do what you can do with FlyBall. FlyBall provides you with an innovative Game Simulation Mode (GSM) view, which has the look and feel of a baseball field. For the user, every activity that takes place on the field is just a click away. The user doesn't have to keep track of the next atbat or the base runners. FlyBall keeps track of everything, the next atbat, base runner's position, hits, strikes, balls, errors, runs, outs and team scores. FlyBall does everything on it's own automatically and the user is exempted from the pain of keeping a track of all these things.
