Description
Gine (Gine Is Not a Emulator) is the equivalent of GX.dll that runs on Sharp's electronic dictionary brain. It works by actually accessing video memory, not emulation. 2nd generation brains are not supported.
GX.dll originally works on Pocket PC, but the brain resolution is 480x320, which is unique for Pocket PC. Therefore, some applications that do not use GX.dll "properly" may not work properly. Gine's GX.dll, as the name suggests, doesn't do any emulation and provides the same direct access to video memory as the original GX.dll.
However, if it does not work with Gine, emulation is required, so please emulate the Pocket PC display with another library that emulates GX.dll. Since the video memory is not accessed in this case, the processing speed becomes slower.
By using Gine, speed improvement of up to 28% has been confirmed over TCPMP. Note: Even devices with Windows Embedded CE 6.0 will not work with anything other than Sharp's electronic dictionary brain. Also, it does not work with 2nd generation brains that support "smooth characters". Unpredictable problems can arise.
