Installation Instructions

The program file is not in of itself a program, but rather a grouping of text based documents utilizing ".pdb" files that can be opened with a reader program located in the HPC:Factor SCL.

For the purposes of the screenshots, this program from the SCL was utilized, but there are others available as well.

Original installation notes from the developer are archived below and not necessarily applicable to Windows CE devices:

Thank you for your purchase of ChemSet 2000! We're sure you'll find this set of electronic references to be extremely useful in your day to day work.

To install ChemSet 2000, you'll need to know how to install any new software package on your Palm device. Please check your Palm owner's manual for details if you're unfamiliar with this process. You'll also need to make sure that you have at least 483KB of space available on your Palm. If your device doesn't have this much free space, you can either remove other files from your Palm or choose to install only portions of the full ChemSet 2000 reference.

YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO HAVE A DOC READER INSTALLED ON YOUR PALM DEVICE. Note that a DOC reader is NOT included with ChemSet 2000. We recommend PalmReader (free) from Palm Digital Media - you can download a copy from http://www.palmdigitalmedia.com. We also recommend TealDoc from TealPoint Software (http://www.tealpoint.com). You can either download it directly from TealPoint's website or from PalmGear HQ (http://www.palmgear.com). TealDoc is a powerful and inexpensive (US$16.95 shareware) package.

Once you've used the Palm Install Tool to move the 14 files which make up ChemSet 2000 to your Palm device, you can open your DOC reader package (PalmReader, TealDoc, Aportis Doc, etc..) and see the list of contents. Note that when ChemSet 2000 files are opened in certain DOC readers including TealDoc, the documents will be automatically scanned for bookmarks. This means that the first time you open each document, there will be a short delay as a one-time indexing process is performed.

If you have any questions regarding ChemSet 2000, please feel free to contact us at support@pdantic.com and we'll try to get you an answer as soon as possible.
