Description

What is DeleteCEDatabase ?

DeleteCEDatabase is a small utility that allows you to delete databases files on
your Windows CE device. If you've spent any time at all around the CE, then you
already know that once you create a database table, the system won't allow you
to delete it interactively. This can be particularly annoying if you're a developer
who regularly needs to create and remove tables during development and testing.

I'm sure most of you seasoned developers would have no trouble whipping
up something like this yourselves, but for the CE beginners, I've included all of
the source code (under the GNU license) in the hopes that it will help get you
started in CE programming.

What do I need to use it?

If you're going to build the source yourself you'll need Microsoft Visual C++,
along with the CE Developers Toolkit, and, of course, a CE device (or the emulator).

Make sure you copy the MFC DLLs (mfcce20.dll Olece.dll) down to the CE devices /windows directory.
You'll find these in \Program Files\DevStudio\Wce\Mfc\Lib\Wce200\xxxx, where xxxx is one of
the following:

Wcemips for the mips platform,
Wcesh for the Hitachi platform
X86em for the emulator

You can also simply copy the appropriate executable to your CE device (again, you'll need the DLLs as
as well). Note that I've renamed the executables:

DelDB.exe.EMU // Emulation version
DelDB.exe.MIPS // MIPS version
DelDB.exe.SH // Hitachi version

remove the final extension before copying to your device.

Known bugs

None that I know of, however, I have not tested the MIPS version, since I do not have a
MIPS device handy. If you experience any problems with this, or the other platforms,
please let me know at: jbefumo@clarity-dev.com
