Description
GNU Boy CE is a GameBoy/GameBoy Color emulator for the Windows CE platform developed. As a result, this is the first and only emulator I have been able to run on my Omnia 2 for these consoles that have fully working sound with frame skipping set to 0. Believe it or not, this aging application already supports a touch screen based virtual controller.
Welcome to the hastily constructed home of WAC gnuboyCE, a minor update/enhanced port of the gnuboy CE. This particular port is based off of Xetra's sources. These have been updated to the latest 1.0.3 gnuboy sources.
Features
A couple of notable additions:
Auto frame-skipping
SRAM (battery backed RAM), real time clock saving on exit
Can change the sample rate from 11Khz/22kHz/44kHz, Mono/Stereo sound
uncompressed ROMS and SRAM take almost no memory to load. Memory footprint of gnuboyCE is now around 300k!
handles losing focus better - appointment notifications, etc. should no longer hang or confuse gnuboy CE
slightly better performance - I easily get 60FPS with frame skip hovering between 1-3 at 240x216 (Anti-aliasing on, 22kHz sound Mono)
WHATSNEW-gnuboyCE.txt: An attempt to commit my changes to paper before I forgot them all. Not guaranteed to be complete, but most of what has been changed is in there.
News
March 30, 2003: Version 1.0.3-0.4 Released. A touch more speed, better frame skipping and audio synchronisation (less crackling). Settings can now also be saved in the registry.
March 18, 2003: Version 1.0.3-0.3 Released. SPEED TEST RELEASE. I have hooked the GAPI drawing code into the line by line drawing system instead of copying from a framebuffer. Please let me know how the speed goes. Autoframeskipping is still erratic, but should be better. For more smooth gameplay, I would recommend using a set frameskip.
March 14, 2003: Version 1.0.3-0.2 Released. Zip support is now FIXED. You can now change the number of sound buffers under the Audio/Buffers menu from 8/16/24. Higher values should eliminate popping/crackling sound when the emulator falls below 60FPS, but can allow the sound to fall behind further.
March 14, 2003: Fortunecity mysteriously deleted this account. Uploads are in progress.
March 13, 2003: Added source code zip
March 12, 2003: First public release

Works well on my IBM WorkPad z50 HPC with a pile of ROMs on its CF card. Sometimes the frame rate and sound is off but hey you can tinker the settings into acceptable or darn close.
Setup Failed for HP 360LX, it cannot run on the current operating system version. Which is Windows CE 2.0
