System Requirements

Copy .cab file to handheld and tap on it to install.

I installed the MS Reader app, and it does run on my Jornada 720. Just copy the CAB file to your Jornada, and click on it. However, the app does nag that that you have to activate it to purchase and read "premium eBooks". I googled for a way to activate it without having a Windows 95 PC available, and didn't find anything.

BTW, the 720's wide screen format doesn't display very much text at a time. There doesn't seem to be any in-app controls for zooming (or anything else, other than initially choosing what book to open). I will try reading a book on it and see how it goes, but this isn't nearly as good an experience as using a Kindle or Kobo app on a modern device.

And the eBook format (.lit) used is apparently a Microsoft proprietary format. Microsoft introduced the file format and free readers for various platforms in 2000, but it was discontinued in 2010. More about this can be found here: https://www.howtogeek.com/366643/what-is-a-lit-file-and-how-do-i-ope...

So, hard to recommend this reader after this first impression. Yes, it works. Is it a good reading experience? No. Finding eBooks sounds like it will be a problem. There is probably a file converter utility out there somewhere, but this remains to be seen.
