Overview:
3Com never formally released driver for the 3C589x series (3C589,
3C589B, 3C589C, 3C589D) of PCMCIA Network cards for use with Handheld
PC Professional and above.
Solution:
These experimental drivers are provided for the convenience of
Handheld PC users however are not supported.
3Com do not offer these drivers as a download from their site and
do not offer support for them. Use at your own risk.
HPC:Factor has created two distributions based on the original
3Com beta release. These are available from the CESD download centre.
The first is a Host installer which will integrate with ActiveSync
and automatically detect the device and processor attached to the
computer.
The second file is a Handheld PC driver package in a zip file.
Allowing you to manually select the processor type and bypass the
ActiveSync process.
More Info:
These drivers are based on the 3Com code for an experimental driver
set for the 3C589 chip when running under the Original Windows CE
2.10 release of Handheld PC Professional. There are significant
known compatibility issues with using these drivers under Windows
CE 2.11 or 2.12 based systems. As such HPC:Factor is unable to warrant
that the driver will operate successfully under your device.
