| Hello all,
I have been using my old Casio PA-2400U handheld as, among other things, an ereader and for note taking in the field (in tandem with either my Compaq C120 or Jornada 680e), and tire of having to worry about synching the device whenever the battery gets low.
My Jornada has that wonderful built in backup software, and since it acquired a CF card (not a very big one; 32 MB), it is able to run, safely, days on end.
I would like something similar for the PA-2400U. I have a CF card on its way (also small), and was wondering what backup software works best with this device.
Thanks,

| What, you can't use the HP Backup on the Casio? I would have thought it would be easy to run on it since they are both SH3 processors. Wasn't there an earlier version that run on the 660lx that ran on CE2 systems?
If not, then bUseful backup would probably be your best choice.

| Not sure if I can copy the HP backup software; it's in ROM, though I do have Total Commander. Might give it a shot, but concerned about OS compatibility. As for bUseful; haven't been able to find a download for it.
Let me try that HP trick and I'll get back to you...

| Turns out that HP Backup is a control panel item, not a real executable per se. Still, I'm crazy enough... | |

| ...and it's a no-can-do; the backup.cpl file on my Jornada is read only, in ROM and cannot be copied.

| Good news; turns out the Casio supplied backup software appears to work with the PA-2400U. Fairly easy to work with, fairly fast.
We're good.

| I was about to suggest that. It's always done the job on my PA-2400U (and PA-2400W ). | |
