Can I sync my HP 360lx to my IBM ThinkPad using the IR port on both? Thank you.

Also, is there any type of replacement for the serial cable that will fit the port? I see two on eBay, and they are each $50!! That seems insane.

Yes, the IR ports will do everything the serial cable will. You will want Windows 95 through XP as the operating system though for simplicity in making it work, plus ActiveSync 3.8.
