Hello,

I'm new here, sorry if this was answered already - didn't find an answer yet.
I've got a Cassiopeia A-20 without a data cable.
I'm using the device (yeah, really) to make some notes, as a diary etc - and would like to have those Pocket Word & Pocket Excel files synchronized to a PC.
Removing the CF card everytime to do a sync is not an option.

I've got a Sitecom IrDA USB adapter, installed a WinXP 32 Pro on VirtualBox, installed the driver and ActiveSync 3.5
ActiveSync detects the IrDA adapter, but is not able to communicate with Casio.

- is it possible to synchronize A-20 over IrDA with ActiveSync at all?
- or is IrDA on it used only to exchange the files with the same A-20?
- is there something, that I need to run, switch on or configure on A-20 for that?

Or, maybe, what are the other options? PCMCIA wireless (or wired) and some sync script?

The IrDA adapter itself seems to work, at least it is able to establish a connection with some old Sony Clie.

I'm talking about this one in the middle

Oh. Stupid me.
It took me three days to find out, that a simple reset of cassiopeia solves the issue.

Now I'm able to synchronize to that virtual XP and can access my files on Win10!
Totally happy.

Welcome to the forum! Glad you figured everything out.

I guess the saying goes “don’t fix it if it ain’t broken” but in case you have sync issues in the future, I recommend upgrading to ActiveSync 3.8 (the final version which supports syncing with Windows CE 2.0/2.1 devices)

https://www.hpcfactor.com/downloads/1617/Microsoft_ActiveSync/version_3.8.0.5004

But I wouldn’t want to mess up your setup if everything is working for now. I think 3.8 (along with the releases in between) mainly bring more reliability and bug fixes and better support for USB &Office 2003 syncing if memory serves. Obviously the usb sync wouldn’t apply in this scenario
