Wifi connection problem on NEC 900

When I was up in the city last week giving a talk I tried to connect to the internet useing the free wifi access the city had. I was able to connect useing my wifi card and it stayed connected. but when I go into IE says its not connected and needs to connect and keeps wanting to try and use my dial up setting. How I make IE use my current wifi connection? hope someone will be abel to help this newbie at mobile computing

Did you try going to Internet Options in Control Panel, and on Connection tab, check the box for Use LAN (no autodial)?

hmm no I did not. so you use the lan option for WIFI?

yeah i set it to LAN and it works fine for me. A wireless connection is a WLAN connection anyway so it shouldnt get confused

OK I've got an MP900c with Cmonex's latest upgrade! But I still can't connect with WiFi at home.
The connection keeps connecting & disconnecting, & I get the message "cannot connect to server". I know it's something simple -- HELP!!!!
