| Shortcuts to Media Player and Windows Explorer are present in \Windows\Programs but Programs in Start Menu are empty.
How can I recover the program shortcuts in the Start Menu? |

Thank you for the reply but the suggestion does not work.
As I have said, Media Player.lnk and Windows Explorer.lnk are present in \Windows\Programs but do not appear in Programs of the Start menu. |

| APologies, I misunderstood what you were asking there.
Ensure that the icons aren't flagges as hidden and that the device is actually drawing the start menu from \windows\programs (try deleting something). It might be drawing from a different location. |

| I experiment to paste shortcut of a custom program in \Windows\Programs. Again the shortcut does not appear in Start/Programs.
I really want to hard reset my device which is a no brand name PNA but I do not know the steps. It has an on/off slide switch and a power button which merely put the device in sleep mode. |

| So try as I said and delete something to find out if you are in the right directory. |

| There are only Media Player.lnk and Windows Explorer.lnk in \Windows\Programs. Which item should I delete? I truly cannot understand how deleting either Media Player.lnk or Windows Explorer.lnk will reveal whether the device is actually drawing the start menu from \Windows\Programs. |

| This wouldn't be consistent with the core OS, but I wonder if the shortcuts are supposed to be in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs a la Pocket PC. Do this folder and subfolder exist on your device, gnowe? Edited by CE Geek 2009-01-04 12:23 AM

There is no \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder and subfolder on my device. |

| It's quite simple. If you start deleting shortcuts from that folder and inturn those shortcuts vanish from the start menu, then you have proven that the start menus is sourcing shortcuts actively from that folder. |

| The problem with that idea, C:Amie, is that gnowe has stated that there are already no shortcuts in the Start Menu. |

What happens if you try moving the shortcuts (you mentioned ) from the Programs folder to the Desktop folder? |
