| Hello everyone.
I have just bought a Tosh JournE Touch (hopefully) to replace my J720 *if* I can get the following restrictions lifted.
a) prevent the default UI from starting and have WinCE desktop instead.
b) see all files no matter which application is running.
c) allow apps to run even without internet connection
d) install a real MS Windows Media player on it
with case b you have to use media player to *see* media files and pdf viewer to see pdf and music player to see audio files. aarrgh!
I already know about the Windows Messenger workaround to get the standard shell but this is not how I want to navigate the system.
with point c. opening local files with Internet Explorer is definitely the problem I want to solve. I was also hoping to use HTAs (HTML applications) on this thing but they won't show up in the file explorer either. Doh!
This is a really nice solid piece of hardware that imho has been spoilt by a overly restrictive set of policies and lousy media file support.
Out Of The Box Experience: It's a nice brick (almost)
