It does USB only with CE 5 and newer...couldn't connect USB on my Mobilepro 900/900C. I did all my testing on IrD.

I'm using x64 Win7 and Win8.

There is no "Notes" utility on the HPCs that I own, nor does it show it as a transfer option in the WMDC that I'm using...nor is there any mail/inbox synchronization that I can see.

I did set up my default email program on the 900C and it did download all the mail from the YMail server via infrared through my desktop...in other words I do have internet through my desktop through the infrared link...

and further, I've tried 4 different IrD USB adapters...only two of them work well for me...the Actisys IR2000UL and the JetEye ESI-9680, which is a serial port IrD adapter. Both work great, but of course the USB Actisys is far easier as you don't have to go into your device manager and set the baud rate like you do for the serial device.

Don't know...that takes version 5.4 or later to work with WMDC, I only have 4.7 and that will send the Phatware desktop notes fine via Activesync, but not via WMDC.

I tried...but no go...

Another piece of the puzzle. Thanks.

Does time sync work on connect? How about internet pass through to internet explorer?

Funny, I didn't even notice that, but yeah...it does set the time automatically to the computer's time. And yes, internet pass through works too.

And here is something I didn't even realize WMDC would do.

While connected, I decided to download a CE program, so I downloaded Ilium's Dockware from HPCFactor. The desktop installer downloaded, then I ran it. It ran, and then installed it to my Mobilepro 900C just like Activesync used to.

Was that always a feature of WMDC?

So I guess the question then becomes, besides the fact that it doesn't work with the older CE devices, what does WMDC not do that Activesync did do?

ADDED: I just installed CERegEdit v4.4 to my desktop...it works through WMDC also. Cool!

Here is another that works well. Pocket Controller Professional.

I installed version 5.07, and it works and runs perfectly. But version 6.02 is even better, because it has a built in registry editor in the desktop software, so it eliminates the CERegEdit as a separate program.

It was always supposed to support the host installer process, windows mobile used it much the same.

Does inbox sync correctly too?

C:Amie, the problem with PIM synching appears to be related to newer versions of Windows Mobile that use pim.vol as the POOM library:

Interesting... this issue is getting more and more confusing.

Has anone tried 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 over any of the connection methods?
