When you soft reset the device with icons linked to files on the storage card, they will fail to load for a few seconds. This is because there is a second or so's delay while the Storage Card is queried for information, status and whether the device is on AC or battery.
If slot 1 = empty; end
If slot 1 = present then
check pnp id
match pnpid = pass; then begin load driver
match pnpid = fail; check type and attempt to load builtin driver
check device state
device is battery = suspend with prompt
device is AC = finish driver load; power up device
check file system slot 1
file system fail = prompt autorecovery / format
file system ok = mount card
load opening handle
device ready
Repeat simultaniously for slot 2.
The trouble is that the icons on CE are not cached, so have to be requested from the source. On a storage card this can only be done after the 'device ready' stage. However by the time your device reaches the desktop, it's usually only at the power state check, if that.
Fixing it just involves forcing it to redraw, so maximise / minimise an application will do that.
When I first read Ales's message that's what I thought perhapse it was. However I concluded you were having icon draw issues rather than an icon vacume.
