Not a feeling any of us want to ever have. I'm sorry you went through it, but glad you made it through.

I smell a malpractice suit. No reason why they shouldn't have disclosed that right away. Defeats the purpose of informed consent beforehand if they don't disclose what happened afterward. "First, do no harm."

I have a layer who is pretty mad at the situation, I have him for another case and he will be looking in on it. It's not a fun situation to be in, it's like one hit after another and it sucks lol.

And thanks CE Geek.

Goodness, it sounds like a complete horror, I am sorry that you've experienced this.

I take it that they are not planning to go in and replace this clip at this point? You must be a frightened as you are angry; both of which are totally okay!

Weird thing is, it happened DURING the operation. So they have already "fixed" the clip. Which is why I find it so strange why they didn't tell me when I woke up, or my family which was in constant contact with them.

Oof, I'll have my lawyer look into it. Upsetting you can't trust doctors anymore.

Last night I started feeling weak, shaky, dizzy and a very anxious feeling in my chest. I went to sleep, took a while and woke up two hours later that night around 4am still feeling it. Forced myself to sleep again, woke up today around 3ish-pm STILL feeling this way. Called the E.R. and they wanted me to come in. All tests came back good, they spoke to the neuro doctors at the main hospital and they said it could be an anxiety attack brought on by Lamictal.

So now back at the hospital for observation. Just my luck, anti-seizure meds cause anxiety attack ugh.

And the anxiety comes and goes in waves, I mean man, it's now 11:30pm and have had it sine 1030 yesterday. This is also my first panic attack so don't know how to react.

I'm pretty sure lamictal (anti seizure) meds are to blame. I had a great night tonight, woke up and was given lamictal and now those feelings are coming back again. Thankfully going to epileptic specialists the 9th for them to check out what's happening with the meds, they told me it's also used as a "mood stabilizer" in certain people so that may be doing something unintentional within me.

But honestly, I'd rather have these anxiety attacks than the sheer 30 seconds of unescapable eldritch horror I felt the day of my seizure! That was some of the scariest feelings I've ever had unfortunately, so these anxiety attacks are manageable in comparison. Even though they are NOT fun either, but they'er a 6/10 compared to 40/10 eldritch horror I was facing! haha. Gotta keep my humor up, so I don't go completely crazy

Sounds like you are really going through it here, I am sorry to hear this.

I trust that you are avoiding stimulants at the moment; alcohol, caffeine, sugar. Be careful of some pain killers and over the counter things like cold and flu remedies too as they can contain caffeine. I'm not saying they're a cause, but they won't help with anxious symptoms.

If you aren't a big fish eater, it might be worth taking some high dose Omega 3 (or better full 3, 6, 9) as as it is a natural dopamine liberator. Check with a doctor first of course!

Hopefully though it won't be long until they take you off of these things or at least reduce the dose.

I'm only taking what the hospital gives me, so hopefully they know what I can or cannot have. I have an appointment the 9th to the main hospital for epilepsy and meds to see what's going on and hopefully adjust or consider other meds. Thank you for your concern

Wow, continued best wishes for your recovery. My daughter suffers from temporal lobe seizures; she typically gets a strong sense of deja vu, sometimes hears music or experiences tastes or smells, and "zones out" for the duration of the seizure. Hope your doctors find an effective treatment for you.

Thanks mark, sorry to hear about your daughter. Must be tough being a parent in that situation, seeing your child go through something and there's not much you can do.

Thankfully in my case, since the seizure was brought on by a stroke there's only a 33 percent chance I'll ever have one again, even less so when medicated. But this medication I am fairly certain is causing my extreme bout of anxiety attack. It's been going on since Saturday night, however woke up today feeling like myself only to be given lamictal again and it (anxiety) starting up. Can't wait until the 9th! Need to figure something out, either new meds or whatever. I can't live like this.

Wish you and your daughter the best! <3

Thanks, HPC:Fan! Hope they can find the right med for you that doesn't cause side effects.
