Hello, how do you open the hinge on the Mobilepro 700? I saw an image of one where the plastic piece was off and some of the hinge mechanism was accessible for repair--are there precautions that need to be taken in order not to break it when opening? Would you use a flat head screwdriver or a different tool? Are there instructions anywhere for disassembling/repairing Mobilepro 700/models with a similar design (750, etc.)? Thank you!

Welcome to HPC:Factor. I have a MobilePro 700 as well. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for your question, but I did a quick search on the forum and found this thread
https://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=16216&start=1

Otherwise, @Rich Hawley may have enough knowledge to give us some information, as he has a lot of experience on MobilePros

. . . which we discourage due to the thread's age. See Rule 7 here:

https://www.hpcfactor.com/info/help/forums/rules/

We've been a little more tolerant in recent years due to the sunsetting of Windows CE support (and even acknowledgment of its existence) by Microsoft, but reviving a more-than-decade-old thread to bring up what you've already brought up here is still something we don't encourage.

A PM to the poster you responded to there would've been better as it would at least trigger an e-mail notification directly to that member if that member has not disabled that setting. But even that might be a longshot given that that member hasn't visited this site for nearly eight years.
