Well it imported fine, but when I now run the application in question the entire system freezes

(Edit: regardless of the result, I just wanted to thank you immensely for your patience (not just here but in general too), your help has been incredibly valuable to me with all of my CE projects )

Could there be any other DLL's that we need to manually register?

My second thought is whether this is an issue of the DLL's being MIPS 4000 ones and the 6651 is using a 3922 processor - however after all these years, I would have thought that someone else with a MIPS 3922 might have complained. The only 39xx DLL's that I am aware of are for CE 2.00.

It's so strange, just the fact alone that the cab installer for the runtime freezes during the "writing to registry" stage at the very end

There should be, yeah, though I don't know if it would be worth trying to get them loaded at this point, since I can't even get the file/file system control to load without it freezing You'd expect there to be an error message at least, but it just slows down and freezes, save for the desktop icons which are still selectable

If you don't use the CAB, but use the files in the zip link I sent a few posts back, will it copy all of them into place?

Does a .vb app that doesn't make a call to the file system control work? Just a 'hello world'?

When I try running the notepad app from the SCL, it complains about "cbarMain" not being creatable, which I'm assuming is the command bar, do you think we could try that next? Do you maybe have the registry entries for that on hand?

I think I got it!!! I found the binaries for CE2.11 MIPS 3k in the CE extension for VS6!
It's no longer freezing!!!!!! It's complaining about another missing library!
