Hi all,
Just wanted to draw your attention to the excellent Scheme-implementation available in PocketScheme. It is bare bones wrt the REPL and the Editor but the language implementation is complete as far as I have been able to ascertain. An added bonus is that one can develop scripts to run on the CE desktop. If this is a full COM automation remains to be investigated. Unless someone already knows if this is the case…

Hmm. I can’t say I’ve used it before but still good information you’ve found out so far.

Yes, I've known about the PocketScheme, but only tried it on my HTC Tytn II variant, EMONSTER S11HT, which is a Windows Mobile device.

I want to learn those lambda functions in (Pocket)Scheme so I can know about recursions more.

THat is a fantastic find! Many thanks for the link to the PocketScheme author's page.

Other good sources on how to learn LISP/Scheme are:

"Common Lisp" by Guy L Steele (Thorough but sometimes a bit dry)
"The little Lisper" A great introduction to LISP and recursive and functional programming.

I'm very much a casual novice in Scheme but it's still the first thing I install on every CE device I own. Lightweight but very high quality and I love it especially on touch screen-only devices where the Scheme/LISP syntax is very Jot-friendly.
