| Good morning. I'm getting back into using my mobilepro 900c and am having an issue with my wireless lan drivers. After downloading from this website and transferring them onto my 900c it gives me the error of "there is no application associated with wl54gcfppc41. Run the application first, then open the file from within the application". What steps am I missing or have I gone wrong? I'm running 4.20 and am trying to install my ambicom wl-54 cf. Thanks in advance! |

| I assume you are referring to: https://www.hpcfactor.com/hcl/detail.asp?hcdid=659
It feels to me as though
a ) you've downloaded the zip file, copied it to the device and are trying to double click on the zip file
b ) you're using the 41 zip file and you need the drivers in the 42 zip file (CE 4.2 )
If both are true, you need to extract the zip and run the setup on the host and extract the CE driver CAB's there-after.

| Thank you for the quick response. I extracted the 4.2 zip . This is the error when I try to run the setup. Setup is not a valid Windows CE application. |

| Please look at the link I posted above. It's a Host installer (runs on normal Windows), not a Windows CE app. |

| Thank you very much. I tried that route but have just run into dead ends each route I've tried. I thought it'd be as easy as loading some of the other programs I've downloaded from your site but I guess I was wrong. It's more of a hobby for me as I'm a novice at these things. I appreciate the help but I think I'll put it back in the drawer as I've been at this all morning with no luck. |

| Don't give up! What's the current problem you are struggling with?
You have to learn the nuances of CE, it is not like other versions of Windows. It also doesn't like playing nicely with Windows 10/11 if that is what you are doing. Consequently it is usually recommended to use a virtual machine of Windows 98/XP.

| I was able to perform the steps with successful extraction of the 41 cab driver file but when I perform the same steps for 42 it says file is corrupt. |

| That’s odd. Can you delete the file and try it again?
I’ve used the 4.1 on my Sig3 and the 4.2 on my 900 with that same exact card.
When I get home in the next day or two I’ll try to extract the cab for you and upload them as “inflated” zips.
I’ll update this thread when I do it |

| Thank you kindly. I tried that again as you requested. For some reason when the 41 driver is installed the wireless card identifies it,connects to my phone's hotspot with excellent connection but won't load pages on IE. I assumed it wouldn't load because it's not the proper driver. I am running 4.2 with CMONEX. |

| It sounds like you may need to play with the IP settings.
Check this thread

Note C:Amie’s replies are the more “authoritative” because I had a glaring typo in mine. But I’d try what he was suggesting. |

| Idea number 2
Also is your phone's hotspot WPA1 or WPA1/2 or WPA2?
I think Windows CE likes WPA1 TKIP not AES (if memory serves. I could be wrong) |

| Thank you very much. I tried the Uniextract. It's a good program recommendation, thanks. I tried the IP settings on the linked thread. It had some very good information but didn't work for me. I was unable again to extract a file from the setup exe. It is either saying corrupt or doesn't complete the extraction process. I currently use an open hotspot without security to test the connection. |

| Understood. I’m sorry it wasn’t more help. Give me a day or two and I’ll upload the 4.1 and 4.2 cabs for you. I’ll reply when it’s done.
Moreover, I recommend if you’re able to , hard reset between trying different cab versions to eliminate conflicts. |
