| If I remember correctly, a PIII 750 CPU. I saw the link you provided. Yes, from what I read I can only put 512 MB of RAM, maximum. I'm buying it now. A thousand thanks! |

| Taking a specialised vacuum cleaner and/or canned air GENTLY to the inside of the laptop will help clean the dust. You need to be careful as everything is ready to break, especially the ribbon cables and connectors.
If you overspeed the fan with the air, you will destroy the bearings and the fan will be noisy. For computer fans, I tend to try a bit of compressed air but do NOT allow the fan to spin; then use a cotton swab.
While you are inside check for any corrosion or water damage. We use a bright light (and near a window on a sunny day). Use naked eye then a loop too.
Also, the gold electrical contacts on the RAM need to be perfectly clean. NEVER touch the gold contacts with your hands as the oils cause failures (my buddy ran statistics but did not publish the results). We tend to clean with high grade iso alcohol (e.g. 99.99%). We do NOT touch the ram jack pins as they are so delicate. |

| The compact flash device has arrived and is installed. The RAM will arrive in a few days.
In the meantime I wanted to ask, is there a way to use this old disk? I would like to use it as an external USB disk.

| Question: Is it possible to change CD players and install a DVD player?
Is it also possible to put the more powerful processor? |

| Yes, the drives are internally standardised, however the door that matches the case moulding are not standardised, so you may not be able to make it aesthetically match.
Possibly, would need motherboard photos to see if it is socketed or not. |

| The memory arrived and I mounted it. Everything works.
In the meantime, I was wondering, since I have installed Windows XP, obviously I won't use the internet much, but out of curiosity, which office package works? That is, which Outlook is still usable? Outlook which is included in the Office XP package or the 2010 one? |

| Office 2010 is the last version to support XP. You'll need to hack TLS 1.2 support in to XP to connect to any modern encrypted service though. |

And do you know how to do it? |

| You have to force load files from Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 onto XP via a registry hack, then update the registry to enable TLS 1.2. |

| So in the end I couldn't do it. Looking at some guides, I realized that there is something wrong.
Basically you have to modify this fly:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\WPA\PosReady]
"Installed"=dword:00000001
But I don't have it on the register.... |
