| It seems like Microsoft open sourced their MS-DOS 4.0 .
It’s pretty cool, I think.

| I've been trying to think of a practicable use for this since you posted it at 10:30 this morning and I literally can't think of anything.
6.22 or 7.0, I get. I'm just not sure how useful 4.0 would be. How many devices with an operating ceiling of DOS 4 are there that can't run 5 or 6? | |

| Maybe a user can make a custom MS-DOS and run it on PocketDOS? But is such a thing allowed in the license terms, I’m not sure. | |

| I think I'd sooner head to 6.22 or Free DOS, caldera etc. But each to their own. | |

| I don't really see the real incentive for Microsoft to open source it now at 2024, but I guess it will be a promotional thing too. | |
