Is the Sig II better than the J728? And is the Sig III that much better than a J728?

Is the sig 2 better than the j720/728 ? no. I do like the foma (sony) which almost all hpc in japan have to connect cell phones to the hpc and all the extra software that Japanese computers get that makes them worth the price.

I had a Japanese J720 which sold to get the Sig 3.

You can still get them for 50.00 just have to look. You lucky to get it for that price.

I got them when they first came out new sig 1,2, and 3. i had the sig 1 for 3 months (sold it to get phenom 120) sig 2 ( gave to friend as a loan..he still have it)sig 3 lost it.

There are so many Japanese only HPC models too bad they are not marketed outside Japan.

The JVC model I will try and get soon after I promise to get the MP900c
and fixing the batteries on the SB G138.

CEYA!

Oh ho ho! Sweeeet. I want a SigII so bad... I think the big question is how easy is it to turn CE to english. I don't know if CE Pro 2000 (right OS for the SigII?) is easy to convert to something a little more english friendly.

I've researched the heck of of the Sigmarions... The only drawback I see with them is a lack of PCMCIA slot. At least they make a lot of CF doodads.

How does the construction feel? Is the screen component made out of aluminum or just plastic? How's the battery life (hard to check, I know)? Are you willing to sell it?

yes it is a sweet device.. the screen is nice, i'll see what it is like with video and stuff (as some think theres no ghostign, some think there's a lot)

i think it can be converted 50%, maybe more, i'll let you all know soon.

lack of pcmcia, well 1) flashrom helps a little 2) sandisk wifi with memory helps too (if we can find mips drivers)

construction: it looks OK, time will tell, mine is really in a like new condition! it is plastic. battery life, i'll test that soon too, one thing is for sure, it survived weeks in suspend while traveling to me. battery was at 60% when i got it.

no, i cannot sell it, sorry

Talking of comparasions:

Clevo M37EW (XP Pro atm - 15.4in), MP780, J718, iPAQ 3870 (EWWW!)
It is safe to say, for portiblity, you are better off with a HPC, as long as you don't do any 3D work! Othewise you WILL need a laptop!
Note my display pic for MSN on the bottom! It has to be seen to be believed!
