Try a different server. Round robin servers dont always connect. For instance i need to use irc.desync.com to connect to efnet. The chat window will only show up upon connection. If it fails to connect it wont do anything such as you're describing.

The evb file may be used after eVB is installed , so no need for cabs after you install evb runtime..

I also gotta say, I love the "quacks" every time a user posts while I'm looking at something else. (BTW, my previous post was directed at RTFM, in case people wonder whose sig I was referring to.)

The screenshot looks promising, but I'm not able to start the program. Although I've installed the complete package including the evb rumtime, windows will not recognize the program as program. Even soft resetting after installation did not help. Can anyone help me?

Hi, what version of CE are you trying to run it on? It seems versions after 3.0+ have problems associating pvbload.exe with .vb files...

I use CE 3.0 (Jornada 720), after some hard work with reassociating the file extension, quackenchat now works as it is ought to.
I have to admit, that I immediately started loving this application

one little question: how do I close a tab?

Hm, I wonder what happens that the CAB doesn't associate the files properly. I'll look into fixing this in the next release. Esc key is correct, or you can type /part or /p.
